If you are using the History Family Study book, does it include enough geography in it, or would one need to supplement with something like the “Visits to…” series?

Each of the history lesson plan books has one day each week scheduled for geography. The lesson plan books covering Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, and Ancient Rome have been revised to include the appropriate Visits to books.

The other three lesson plan books have not been revised yet, but the geography in those is similar to the Visits to books in that the students are doing map drill work and reading a living geography book. The Visits to books have a couple of added components, including lessons that use the books Material World and Hungry Planet so the student can “meet” modern families living in different countries.

For the Middle Ages, Renaissance & Reformation, Early Modern, and Modern lesson plan books, you can easily use a Visits to book in place of the geography lesson in the guide. Just simply do a lesson in Visits to on geography day instead of what is written in the lesson plans.
