During a recent interview, I (Sonya) was asked, “If someone wanted to homeschool, how would they begin?” I thought, “Good question! How did I begin those many years ago?” A little later, the interviewer asked, “Why did you choose to homeschool?” Another great question!
Talk about getting back to basics! This interviewer seemed to be starting from square one, and I began wondering how many other people needed answers to those questions. So I added those questions to our Getting Started section.
- Why did you choose to homeschool? (Read the article I wrote for our sister site, IntentionalParents.com.
- How do I begin homeschooling? (Learn how to begin at the end.)
- What are the differences between the five basic homeschooling approaches? (Discover the five approaches — CM, plus four others — as well as some curriculum suppliers for each.)
- What is the difference between the Charlotte Mason approach and the Classical approach? (Review a short list of some similarities and differences that we’ve noticed.)
Take a look and next time someone asks you one of those basic questions, you’ll be ready.
