Could you possibly give an example of a verse or two that could be used in this study? I’m having a hard time helping my son know which verses pertain to his relationship with God or His word. Currently he’s just writing the verses that mention the Lord specifically. Thank you!

  Hi, Dawn. Sure. Here are a couple of verses that I would personally list under that section.
  1:7 – The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. (If it helps, have your son add a mental or written “which means” at the end of the phrase to apply it. In this case, you could add “which means I should fear or reverence the Lord.”)
  1:28, 29 – Those who hated knowledge did not choose the fear of the Lord (which means I don’t have true wisdom or knowledge unless I fear the Lord).
  2:6 – The LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding (which means if I want to be truly wise and knowledgeable I will spend time studying God’s Word, not just man’s words in my school books).
  Feel free to leave off the “which means” parts if you think they would only confuse the issue. I just thought I would mention it in case that little phrase would help him clarify what he wants to record.

Wondering if this would be an appropriate study for my (going to be) 5th and 2nd grade girls. I am looking for something to get them directly into the Bible and doing applicable study- this looks great, but I’m concerned it might be too old for them. If this isn’t a good option, can you recommend something else? Thanks!

  I wouldn’t recommend Wisdom for Life as an independent study for students of those ages, but I know of several families who do the study together as a family. That might be an option.

I recently finished this study with my 8, 10, 12, and 14 year olds. It was a great six months in the Word! I realize we could have done this with our Bibles and a blank notebook, but we never would have. I just wanted to say thanks for the idea. Our time was so rich. I expected less from my 8 yo, as in if he got one or two verses each morning, I was thrilled, but we all got so much. We are still referring to the verses we discussed in Proverbs. We did this as a quiet time together every day, all in the same room, but working separately then we talked about it.
