What a lovely ABC book! There are so many ways to use this book; from focusing on letters and alliteration, using the pictures for picture study, or just flipping through to find all the pictures with animals, trees, or food. We will be using this book for years!

  2. Allison

This book is absolutely beautiful ! The art has been curated so well and so carefully it is a pleasure to spend time in these pages. My 5 year old asks to use this every time we sit down to read together. Unfortunately the glue has not held the pages in well. I was hoping this would be a book that would be passed down to each child learning their ABCs, but after several months of use the first few pages came out. It looks like the others will eventually fall out as well. Is there any plans to print in hardback? That would be so wonderful and I’m sure it would solve the issue. Is it possible to have mine replaced? We love it so!

So sorry to hear that your A Is for Art book hasn’t held up. We did switch the book to hardback and we now sell it exclusively with that binding. We’ll get in touch with you privately to arrange a replacement copy.

Beautiful book that i brought for my 5 year old but all my children aged 1 to 16 enjoy looking through this lovely book.

  4. Emery

We loved using this with our pre-schooler, but ours came apart as well which makes it quite hard to look through now. We do love the variety of pictures in it and enjoyed using it as we learned the alphabet.

We did have some trouble with the original softcover binding falling apart, so we switched to a more durable hardcover binding. That’s the edition available on this page and in the Playing with Letters and Sounds kit.

Just wanted to give an update, SCM was very kind and sent us a new copy to replace our broken one. It is very sturdy, and my daughter is already looking through it and remembering the pictures we have looked at already. Thank you!

  6. Holly

This book is so beautiful! I’ve read so many abc books over the years and this is the first to hold my attention and not make me cringe when my child pulls it off the bookshelf. My son loves finding the objects on each page and making up stories about all the pictures. It is a real gem!

  7. shannonbulla

This is an absolutely beautiful and thoughtful book! It feels extremely high quality as well, they seem to have addressed any quality problems with earlier editions because the binding feels very sturdy – I expect it to last for years and years. What a unique book!

  8. hmsiebert

A beautiful hardcover book with delightful art selections! Each picture has so many aspects to explore, and my five-year-old daughter and I can pore over a single page for many minutes. We each have our favorites that we return to in our nightly bedtime readings. The ABC aspect is fun, too. This book is a win!
