Thanks to everyone who submitted their definitions of “twaddle” on last week’s post! If you haven’t read the definitions yet, we encourage you to do so soon.
One of the reasons we wanted to discuss twaddle was to help us all learn how to evaluate the books, DVDs, and other resources that we come across. It’s easy to just ask someone else, “Is this twaddle?” But it is more helpful to you and your family if you can develop the skill of analyzing each resource for yourself. Reading the definitions will give you a wonderful foundation on which to develop that skill.
Now, we promised to select a definition at random today to receive a $10 SCM gift certificate. In order to make sure we stuck to our promise of selecting at random, we used random.org to choose the winner. We’re happy to announce that the winner is Amy Dement.
And just for fun, we decided to give another gift certificate in honor of today. In case you hadn’t noticed yet, today is 09/09/09. Plus, the month September has nine letters in its name. So we are also awarding a $9 SCM gift certificate to definition #9, which was submitted by Dawn.
Congratulations to both ladies!
New Series Coming Up: The Early Years
In a couple of weeks, we will start a new series in these e-mails: The Early Years. Join us for a look at Charlotte’s counsel for educating children under the age of six. If you know any mothers of preschoolers who would enjoy this series, feel free to let them know about it. They can sign up to have the e-mails delivered directly to them. We’re looking forward to exploring the preschool years with you!
