Rediscover the lost art of beautiful penmanship with Beautiful Handwriting 1: The Basic Course. Through a Charlotte Mason approach to handwriting lessons, your student will not only learn to make beautiful letters, but also practice the good habit of best effort along the way.
Beautiful Handwriting 1: The Basic Course guides your student through 35 carefully graduated lessons and video demonstrations (digital download). The course is non-consumable—simply add a practice notebook for each student.
The Charlotte Mason approach to handwriting is wonderful in its simplicity. Students master the strokes that make up each letter first, then combine strokes to form the letters. Real words are written as soon as possible, giving the student a sense of accomplishment rather than the drudgery of mindless copying. An emphasis is placed on best effort, encouraging the student to work carefully and accurately.
Beautiful Handwriting 1: The Basic Course teaches the basic handwriting strokes and lowercase letters. Once a student completes The Basic Course, she can move on to Beautiful Handwriting 2: The Capitals and Cursive Course (coming soon).
Suitable for all ages!
Beautiful Handwriting 1: The Basic Course can be used for beginning handwriting lessons for Kindergarten or 1st grade. Or an older student or adult can use the course as a handicraft for personal enrichment. Instructions are included for teaching a younger student and for self-study.
Which course is right for my child?
Simply Charlotte Mason also offers Delightful Handwriting, which follows the same Charlotte Mason methods and principles to teach your choice of the simpler Zaner Bloser or D’Nealian handwriting styles. Either Beautiful Handwriting or Delightful Handwriting can be used for beginning handwriting lessons. Choose the handwriting style that you prefer for your child to learn.
