Encourage fun math review in your co-op group!

With these twelve 30-minute group lessons designed for grades 4–6, your students will practice math skills of addition, subtraction, and multiplication with decimals as they each manage a pretend store through a year of sales and situations. They will also receive an introduction to percentages, rounding, writing checks, and simple accounting with a ledger to calculate profit and loss.

Lesson plans include ideas for introducing new concepts, inviting student narration and participation, and reviewing previous work in a fun group setting.

Home Extension ideas are included to help parents grow comfortable and confident with Charlotte Mason methods in their homes, as well as encourage the children to continue learning and growing outside of class time. The Home Extensions for this course include designing the store logo, completing assignments not finished in class time, and optionally designing store advertising.

Corresponding Resources

The teacher will need one Your Business Math Teacher book (comes with the student kit) to use in class along with these plans.

Each family will need one Sports Store, Book Store, or Pet Store per student and a Teacher book (comes with the student kit) from the Your Business Math series for Home Extensions.
