My 10th grader has completed all 7 levels of AAS and needs more spelling practice. I’m thinking of putting her in SW, but I’m unsure where. Both her younger brothers use SW. I chose AAS for her b/c she needed the phonics and understanding why words are spelled the way they are, plus she is not a natural speller while her brothers are. How can I determine where she needs to be?

Have you considered Sequential Spelling?  They have a one year adult version.

No, I’ve not looked into it. Thank you.

We have a placement guide on our site for Spelling Wisdom along with Using Language Well.  You’ll need to scroll down the page to see it.

I also encourage you to download the samples for each Spelling Wisdom and look through the sample lessons.  You’ll be looking for lessons where there are 3-4 words that are unfamiliar (cannot spell) to her.  This tends to be what we call the “sweet spot” where they are allowed to focus on only a few words to study.
