I just saw that Amazon has three copies of this book available for sale. Two copies are listed for $49.97 & one copy is listed for $49.98. They are under the used, hardcover editions. I know this book has been very hard to find and that is a good price compared to the outrageous prices I have seen lately. Hope this helps someone.

I found a site where you can rent it for 3 months for as little as $9! It was a college text book rental. Sorry I don’t have the link, but that is also an option for some!
There’s a copy of the Oxford Children’s Ancient History on eBay (Buy It Now) for $32.94 plus shipping! It’s the same as the Oxford First Ancient History from what I read on a previous post.
I hope someone can snatch it up!

Yes, the Children’s edition is easier to find and cheaper and the same! I got mine for 42.48 $ including shipping!
I’m currently trying to win a copy on ebay, not sure how high i’m wiling to go, but I did research the college text book rental route that Kristen mentioned and found http://www.collegebookrenter.com. They have a few copies that they will rent for 60, 90, or 130 days for different amounts all under $12.00 plus shipping. That might end up being an option.
Anyone with SCM have any new developments to share regarding republishing this book? Should I hold out for that?

A First Ancient History: On the Threshold of History Bk 1 (can’t find at any kind of reasonable price)
A First Ancient History: The Greeks Bk 2 (at amazon, alibris, abebooks, etc.–cheap!)
A First Ancient History: The Romans Bk 3 (at amazon, alibris, abebooks, etc.–cheap!)
So we can find 2/3 of the book! I don’t know what to do about the first 1/3.

i found it on amazon for $20. let’s see if it goes through….i already had ordered it the other day and the seller canceled. so we will see. i just kept checking back over and over again…and it had just popped up…literally within the past hour or so. jo and i had just prayed about it!
I can’t believe the prices on this book. I know it’s a good one but I saw one going for $900.00. Wow!

Hopefully, SCM will get permission to reprint this book. It would be great if everyone could buy a copy without having to sell their house to be able to afford it. LoL! I feel so fortunate that I purchased mine for such a great price. There is no way I would have been able to pay some of the prices being asked for it now. Tammy
I got one last week on amazon.ca (canada version) With shipping it was $30 and only took about a week to get here. I thought that wasn’t too bad. 🙂
