Hello families! I’m hoping that someone can help me in sharing their experience. I hope that Sonya will share, too!

Okay, so we finished the Mystery of History I this past year, and my now 9th grade dd needs to have credits for high school. Thinking on a whim, I ordered the SCM module 3 (Matthew-Acts: Ancient Rome) for us to work through, along with our 4th and 7th grade children. In reading some of the other posts, I am now wondering if I need to go back to module 1 and get my daughter up to speed in order to complete all 6 modules in 4 years? In order for me to award her the appropriate credits (TN-1 U.S. History/2 Social Studies), does she need to complete all 6 modules? Would we have to double up on the modules? If so, how would we do that without being overwhelmed? I truly appreciate all of the guidance and encouragment I’ve received on this group, so thank you all in advance for any suggestions. God bless!

    Blessings, Jackie in TN

I live in FL. In order to match the requirements of high schools students, one would need 1 credit US history, 1 credit World History, 1/2 American Gov and 1/2 Economics. As long as you are studying “world history” for a year, regardless of the timeframe, you can justify a “world history” credit. In Florida, you really don’t have to meet any particular requirements in high school – lots of homeschool parents do not realize this, but it is really at the parents’ discretion as to when their child has completed high school and with what credits. I only mention this because this is something that I was not aware of until this past spring and just perhaps your state law is similar to ours. If your child is not planning on college, this takes some pressure off. My 15 year old *IS* planning for college, so we are trying to complete a course load that is “college prep” in scope.
