    Hello Everyone,

I have a few questions, if someone could help.  I have a 10th grader and a 9th grader for high school this year.  We planned on using Mystery of History for our history studies but I read that volumes 3 AND 4 are not a full course of American History, meaning I would have to supplement.  So now I’m doubtful.  I have a 6th and 7th grader also.  We have not done much History at all, so I need to make this count for the high schoolers.  What are your favorite curriculums for History?  Are the SCM History studies a full credit for World History and American History?  We would beable to do these as a family?  Is there a guide for giving the credits?  I assume I would have to use the last 2 books in the series?  I believe they are middle ages and modern?

Also, I would like to use the enrichment studies this year.  Should I start with Volume 1 or does it matter?

Thanks for the help in advance, I will definitely appreciate it!  I’m a little stressed with planning right now.

My favorite history curriculum (for my situation) is BiblioPlan.  It meets all my criteria for a history program:

    –spans K-12

    –Christian perspective

    — incorporates world, US, church, missions

    — has a schedule and guidelines, but is flexible enough to tweak and provides just the right amount of guidance instead of being overwhelming

–there are options of student work pages to be used if I want to

    — incorporates Bible, history, geography and literature, but it is easy to pick and choose which of those you want to use.

–mostly open and go, requires very little advanced prep

    — has a discussion guide with great questions (and answers) so that if I can’t keep up with all the reading I can still have a great discussion with my kids using the guide

Completing both Early Modern & Epistles and Modern Times, Epistles & Revelation will give your students one full credit of American history and one full credit of world history.

You can start with whichever Enrichment Studies you like.
