Yes! As we are starting module 2, I am realizing that as much as I may tweak the history and geography portions of the modules, I will never give them up because I love the way the Bible stories are the main focus for the first three years of the rotation.  It is just the right speed to really take our time and enjoy all the stories, not just the ‘big’ ones.  🙂

I will start by saying I absolutely love SCM and the modules!  I have modified it, however, to best suit our family.  I also incorporate a lot of Ambleside Online curriculum.  I currently do two 3-year history rotations duing 1st through 6th grades, so I double up on modules each year.  In other words, I do modules 1-2 & part of 3 in 1 year, 3-4 in one year, and 5-6 in one year, more or less.  I wanted to be able to enjoy as many of the books on the grade level reading lists as possible 🙂  We start with storybook-type bible reading in the first rotation, then we will read selections from scripture during the second rotation.  Once my kids are in AO’s HEO years, I’ll switch to a 6 year rotation, following AO more closely (which spends more time in AD history, less in ancients), but continue to use SCM’s bible devotional journals, art study, and more.  With this plan, my kids will each hit ancients a total of 3 years.  This route requires a lot more planning on my part, but I’ve been satisfied with it .
