CM Organizer Upgrade Problems

    I hope good reports help too, Doug! I am finding everything working smoothly now with Opera. With IE I still get both the script error message and the “refresh your browser” message very frequently.

    One thing I think you’ve all found out is how much we all rely on the Organizer! LOL Thanks again for all the hard work. I hope you all are getting some sleep and taking an occasional nice destressing break. 🙂

    Thanks everyone for the encouragement and good reports! That means a lot.

    The hard part is not so much all the work but that we missed the level of excellence we strive for. We enjoy making everyone happy much more than fixing problems. 🙂

    Doug – 1st thanks my scripture is right now!

    BUT I am still getting that same error message and once I hit the W/F circle it freezes and I can’t do anything?

    Sorry my computer is acting so badly 😳

    @Iamasahm, Do you have the ability to try this with another browser such as Firefox? (It’s a free download from http://firefox.com)

    I would like to see if it does the same thing there, if possible.

    Also, what kind of Internet connection do you have? (Cable, DSL, dial-up, satellite, etc.)

    Dear Misty,

    I noticed your post and I thought I might chime in with my two cents. A few months ago, I was having problems with my organizer where every time I tried to check an assignment off as “worked on” or “completed” it would freeze up. So I posted my problem to SCM to see if they could help. And I noticed that you responded to my post that yours was doing that too. Well, I finally took my computer in to have it looked at, and found out that my hard drive was about to crash! That’s why my my organizer was freezing up! Unfortunately, I ended up having to buy a new computer. But as soon as I did, my organizer problems were solved. I’m not saying that you need to go buy a new computer, I just think it’s interesting that we were experiencing the same problem. My computer was just under four years old. How old is yours?

    Hey Doug,

    I am having the same problems as everyone else…really slow, the error message at the top saying I need to refresh my browser. I was able to work through the error message..it just stayed up at the top.

    The one thing I have a question about is. When I check something as finished, is it suppose to automatically show the next assignment or do I have to push the button show next assignment each time? I really liked it on the old organizer how as soon as you checked finished the next assignment would just show up. It may just be I have to get used to the new format..Like everyone else is saying..I have really come to depend on the organizer and for me change is just hard. Keep up the good work.

    Oh and by the way thanks for putting the smiley face thingy on here, it makes it so much easier. 😀

    @richpond, It should automatically show the next assignment as you as you mark it as finished. I think that other error is interfering with it.

    As far as we know, that error about refreshing the browser only happens in Internet Explorer. We will get that fixed but you might want to try it in another browser as a work around. I recommend downloading Firefox and trying that. You can switch back to Explorer later if you’d like after we get it fixed.

    I tried this and all is working beautifully. I’ll be switching back to Internet Explorer once the problems with it are corrected, but I sure am happy 😀 that we have a temporary ‘back door’ into the organizer.

    Shelly, you now have two ways to view and check off your work. If you click the Expand Everything link, you will need to hit Next Assignment for each new one. If you don’t use the Expand Everything view, looking at only Today’s boxes, they will automatically advance when you Finish the assignment.

    I am not computer savy as they say. So once I download this Firefox how will I use that to do what I need to do?

    Also, it’s been downloading for over a 1/2 hour. How long will this tie up my phone line today?

    @Iamasahm, Sorry the only answer I have to how long it will take is “it depends”. There are too many factors to know from here.

    Once you get it downloaded you should be able to double-click it and follow the instructions. Most of it will be automatic.

    Unfortunately, the speed of your connection may be a factor in how well it works. Those on fast connections are reporting that it helps, but you may still see the errors because of the slowness.
