I need another suggestion for PD for my son who will be a 6th grader.  We are just starting to read Making brothers and sisters best friends as a family.  So he will not want to read it again right away.  Does anyone have any other suggestions?  Thansk Misty

What about Boyhood and Beyond? Here is a discussion about it and another book for boys. I’m sure the moms with boys will give other ideas too. Smile

Young Men of Valor is one I’ve looked at.  There’s also several other books for boys on their website.

Maybe some other moms can pop in.

What I do with my older children is assign a personal development book and then a book based on missions — whether it’s about a specific missionary (Brother Andrew, Amy Carmichael, etc) or, for my high school sons, a book about the mission field, like Peace Child, Thru Gates of Splendor, etc.  Even though the missions books are not specific in addressing character traits, the lives that the missionaries lived (or live) speak tons!  http://www.ywampublishing.com/ has excellent resources for missions, and some of the titles are available on Amazon.  I started this when I ran out of PD books.

    Just a suggestion!
