I highly recommend all the SCM Spelling Wisdom and Using Language Well books. I purchased all of these books in the electronic format, which is a great option. However, what I like best about these language art books is: the lessons are short and easy to do and older children can work independently. For me, it’s a zero stress lesson. I’m really impressed by my daughters retention too, it’s fantastic. She’s more of a math and science girl, but she actually enjoys these lessons and does them willingly. I’ve seen an improvement in her grammar, spelling and confidence in her own writing ability. I’ve actually purchased one as a gift for a mother who had a child struggling in Language Arts, these books did the trick. I can’t wait until “Using Language Well 4 & 5” come out.
