My son can add, subtract, multiply and divide, knows fractions, but not percentages, could we still do this, with me helping him?

Also, could this be a stand alone math program for a couple/few months, or no?

I am planning to use Pet Store in the fall. Your son knows more math than my daughter. She is just learning to multiply. Someone recommended this because of her difficulties with money. I have the book in hand and it looks like most is addition, subtraction, and multiplication. There is multiplication of decimals and rounding decimals because it is money.  Changing percent to decimal is just moving decimal 2 places to left. Percentage increase directions are given. Change percent to decimal and multiply by original cost and add the result to original cost. Sales tax is 6%, so multiply by .06. There is writing checks and writing cash amounts. Practice pages are given. My daughter may have some struggles with the percentages, but I am going to take it slow, and I will help if need be. I got this to help her in her money skills. If percentages don’t make sense to her, that’s okay. I think she will have fun doing math this way. I don’t know how long it typically takes to finish a book, but I think it could be a stand alone for at least a few months. I will take the whole year because I am going to do some other life skills with her. HTH

Yes, you can still do Your Business Math if you give your son some help with the percentages.

Your Business Math was created mostly to give students a fun, real life way to review and practice their math facts. You can use it in whatever way meets your family’s needs. Some moms use it one day each week along with their regular math curriculum. Some use it over the summer to keep the math facts fresh. Some use it as a break from their regular math curriculum.
