My 10yo son is an emerging reader (still learning). I have thought about beginning written narrations with him this year but am wondering if I should wait until his reading improves. Thank you in advance for any thoughts or practical tips you can share!

Still very open to any ideas. In the meantime, though, I have decided to wait until next year to re-evaluate written narrations.

    Thank you!

I think you’re right to wait.  You can always scribe for him if you need some actual papers for in his portfolio or something.

I am in the same boat with my 10yo son! I ordered Using Language Well and Spelling Wisdom to help him transition gently and naturally. I am excited for this new plan as trying Writing With Ease was, well, without ease, blush. I still have had him do a fair amount of copywork to help him be comfortable writing sentences well. As I pray for his progress, I will remember you and your son too!

Thank you for your encouragement and prayers (cedar girl).

    Bless you!
