Hi , sorry for all the questions here. I am wondering if I could just use Spelling wisdoma nd ULW for my kids for spelling and writing and grammar? Myb daughter struggles with writing and I have been looking at Essentials in Writing but not sure if its a good fit from what Ive read on here.

Also, on another note, has any one used Stayer-upton for math? Im looking for 4th and 7th grade. I am aware there are different levels as well.

Thanks again for the help and encouragment!

ULW will cover spelling and grammar.

It does include rubrics for writing which can then be applied to written narrations.

We don’t start written narrations until 1/2 way through 4th grade, or when spelling is coming along easier and more naturally as well as oral narrations. My understanding, and experience, is that written narrations are such a great way to require and learn writing, a formal program is not needed for quite some time.

It seems many start in 7th or 8th grade (some later) with a program such as Jump In or similar, that give a bit more direction for writing, but prior to that written narrations are really great for learning to write.
