Hi, I have a 13 year old son and 11 year old daughter. We have tried numbers of writing curriculum, IEW is the main one. I don’t really know how to teach my son how to write, essays, creative writing, research. Can you tell me where to start using Charlotte Mason ? We do oral narrations and have done written ones too but wouldn’t know how to do the next step in how those translate into essays or research? Thank you, Jess
Tamara BellModeratorHi Jessica,
We recommend Beyond the Book Report Season 3’s Essay and Research paper program.
These articles are helpful as well:
Narration and Composition in the High School Years
jessica harrisParticipantThank you so much! Would you recommend the Beyond the Book Report seasons 2 and 3 also or does narration and written narration cover all that .
LovinMyFamParticipantWe use Wordsmith and absolutely LOVE IT! It is a 2 year program. I wish I had used it with my older 3 kids who have already graduated.
jessica harrisParticipantThank you! I’m going to go and check it out. 🙂
Tamara BellModeratorWe only recommend Season 3. :-). You can learn more about raising the bar of written narrations here: https://simplycharlottemason.com/blog/raising-bar-narration-q-part-15/
