When we are immersed in learning a new composer, we listen to their music most days.  When do we enjoy the music of composers we have already studied?  Would it be confusing to listen to others at the same time as learning a new one?  Or would they know the difference and it would just be review?  Or do you spend your off-school time, like summers, to enjoy the music you have already studied?

I have them listen for about 3 weeks and then I use the fourth week for review and requests.  I ask them who it is and how they know all week long.  It’s pretty fun.

We usually listen to the comp we are studying duing specific times…like lunch, while working on other subjects etc…I make it a point to say, this is……

when we clean house and turn on the stereo I just put some on and do not announce who and they *usually* remember.

or sometimes during quiet time I will turn the stereo downstairs up just enough so it plays quietly throughout the house and they each have a CD player in their room for bedtime music which is either Christian or Classical
