What’s tax?

We’ve started school and it’s the third day. I do a stellar presentation on “taxation without representation”. Short and to the point – CM would be proud. We’ve read and listened to a song about the subject too. I’m moving into the narration portion of our lesson and my 5 1/2 year old is doing doughnuts on the floor, my 7 year old is twiddling with her hair, my 7 year old son from Guatemala (home 9 months) has eyes that are glazed over, and my 9 year old asks a question “what’s tax?”! UGH!!!! I knew that you could all relate to this – it’s only the third day!!!!! I said “Get your nature journals and we’re talking a walk.” I guess that a lesson on “What’s Tax” will be on today’s agenda. Learning to go-with-the-flow.
