    Hello!

My son is 6 and will be starting Grade 1 this year. This is my first year homeschooling and my son went to public kindergarten last year as we have an excellent school district (oh, and I had twins a month before school started). Ha. Anyway, the focus was very much on getting him to read and I feel like he learned a lot of sight words but really doesn’t even TRY to sound words out (even though he knows the letters, their sounds, and loves to write them … he even writes his own books, though he asks us how to spell every word he wants). Anyway, I have NO IDEA what level of Delightful Reading to order.

That said, I also have a 3 year old … do I order Delightful Reading Kit 1 or is it too soon?

My guess from your description would be the Words I Can Build, Level 2, Kit for your son.

You could get Level 1 for your preschooler if he/she is interested in books and words and such things. The games and activities are meant to be done informally, as the child shows interest.
