Our book club group, Learning with Charlotte, in Jacksonville, FL will begin meeting again in October. This year, we will read through Volume 6. While we will have local meetings and discussion, we are opting to use the SCM to continue our discussion online. I invite all of you to read along and join us either in person or here on the forum.

You can see our reading schedule here – http://learningwithcharlotte.weebly.com

Hi Amy. Yes, just a spot to share what you’ve learned and any insight. I thought here would be appropriate. Not everyone who comes to the physical meeting will be on here discussing, but I thought perhaps any on here that are interested could join the conversation. No pressure, just encouragement.

I’m sorry I forgot to comment on this earlier, but I wanted to share ….

I think that it’s hard to really “do” CM without reading her books.  I thought I knew plenty and got the whole picture prior to reading the first book last year, but I was surprised.  Reading Charlotte’s words cover to cover and on a schedule really works to make the philosophy come alive.  I found myself implementing things I’d thought too awkward to start and penciling notes all over the margins.  I understood the *why* much, much better.  Many tidbits made it to note cards that have kept me not only “using” CM but really understanding and living the whole philosophy of education and the lifestyle that is Charlotte Mason.

I’ve moved and won’t be able to attend anymore, but this year I’m going to set aside some time for ME and read this volume with the LWC group’s schedule.  I’m hoping the discussion on their forum and here will be vibrant!  Join us Amy!  Others?!

Claire, we’re going to keep the discussion here. The forum here is more user friendly as the one on our weebly site was problematic. Glad you’re learning along with us despite the move.

If you’re local to Jacksonville, Florida, our first physical meeting is tonight, 10/22/12, at San Jose Baptist Church. We’d love for you to join us.
