Tweaking Math-U-See to use CM methods?

I have used Math-U-See Primer and Alpha with my oldest. He is a natural with math and begs for word problems to do just for fun. I’ve been happy with Math-U-See since it’s so easy for me to use as a teacher. I sometimes worry that it isn’t enough challenge for him so I use Fridays to supplement with games, work with money, etc. My husband helped choose the math curriculum since he is a “math guy” and I know he would not be happy about switching since he likes their scope and sequence and math isn’t my “thing”. My question is….is anyone using Math-U-See and tweaking it to adapt more to CM’s method? I’ve already been doing this intuitively to some degree. We do math mostly orally and I supplement with tons of “real life” scenarios. Math-u-See is simply our base. I don’t foresee switching but I have Richele’s handbook and I want to use the principles in it and retain his love for math. Is it possible to continue with Math-U-See and yet still implement CM’s methods and scope of sequence? Thanks in advance.

I have been using Math-U-See for years and really love it. I do not see that it needs any tweaking although in my opinion adding games is a good idea no matter what program you use.
