Hi.  Just wondering if anyone can tell me how you keep high school transcripts for CM high schoolers.  I’ve been looking at some sample transcripts and realized that the living books don’t neatly fit into subjects like “English 9”.  Is this made up with the grade being subjective?  Thanks for the advice.

I love the planners I listed below.  I can create a list of subjects needed for graduation and type assignments or activities into the correct subject.  So for PE, I add anything physical: co-op volleyball practice, nature walks, mowing the lawn, jumping on the trampoline, etc.  Literature, grammar, written narrations, etc. can all go under the English 1 tab.

To get a list of subjects needed for graduation, go to your state’s requirements on their department of education page.  Also compare with a list of recommended courses for entering college (I believe Donna Young still has a nice list available).  There may be a few differences between what is needed and what is recommended.

Another helpful resource is Ambleside Online.  I found some great information on fitting living books into transcripts and how many house of work are needed for each credit.

Here is a link to the transcript forms I like. There is the grade book and also the high school planning pages:
