    The forum doesn’t like me.  I’m convinced that’s it.

    I typed out a lengthy but informative reply to Crystal’s post, “CM Organizer Question.”  I clicked on “Submit.”  Suddenly, I see a screen that looks very much like the old-school label on a can of generic peas, all black and white.  (The screen, not the peas.  If memory serves, generic peas were rather grayish-green in color….more gray than green, sadly.)  This less-than-brand-name screen screams at me, “500.  Internal Server Error.”  And then, as if I am an uneducated simpleton, there is small print underneath unleashing the comment, “An Internal Server error has occured.”  (Yes, the word “occurred” is misspelled on the screen.  Who’s the uneducated simpleton now??!!!)

    *Sigh*  Will this Internal Server Error be stopped?  Will it continue to release further occcurrrences of generic-label error proclamations?   Will Crystal ever find the answer to her SCM Organizer Question???

    @Crystal,

    Well, then….let me try to post my reply here.  (I copied it and tried pasting it from a Word document, but to no avail.)

    Hmm…I just tried to copy and paste the paragraphs I had saved, but it still gave me the same error message!  For some reason, it doesn’t like my explanation.

    So…..I’ll give you a hint.  (Maybe the forum won’t pay attention this time.)  Go to your account tab in the organizer. It will let you change when your next school year starts under Student Information.  If you happen to want to use the same date for 2017 as you did for 2016, you can leave it be.  When that date arrives, the system will automatically treat everything from then on as “this school year.”

    When you print/display reports, you can choose the option to show “this school year” or “last school year.”  The system will know which is which and will display what you are asking for.  If you want to print/display an earlier school year, choose the option that says fixed date range and enter the start and end dates for the year you want to look at.

    Also, if you want to use an unfinished resource when the next school year starts, just leave it there and you can pick up where you left off.  It will still be there when you start school again.

    HTH,

    So sorry about the trouble, Sue. If you have a copy of what you tried to post, could you send that to contact [at] simplycharlottemason [dot] com? We’d love to see if we can figure out what’s causing that error and make it stop. 🙂

    I can’t believe our server software has “occurred” spelled incorrectly. I’ll have to see what I can do about that!
