Any recommendations on a good book to read to my son on Thanksgiving? He is almost 6 yrs and I am looking for a great book (and that is timeless) that I can read for many years to come.
Thx
KarenParticipantWe like Louisa May Alcott’s “An Old-Fashioned Thanksgiving”.
5heartsathomeParticipantSally Clarkson’s post on Thanksgiving might help. I hop you have good luck finding books this late into the month. You could also pull bible verses on “giving thanks.”

PhoboParticipantLol, can I jump in here with my vegetarian propaganda and recommend ‘Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving by Dav Pilkey?
Rachel
AprilParticipantThanks Rachel! We will love that book. We are vegetarian so this is up our alley! ~April
PollyParticipantWe just listened to the Legend of Squanto by Focus on the Family Radio Theatre! Wonderful!
PollyParticipantWe also really liked The Thanksgiving Story by Alice Dalgliesh.
5heartsathomeParticipantThe Focus on the Family broadcast was only free for those few days. However, it is only $4.99 on iTunes, currently.

FIAR’s suggestion of Cranberry Thanksgiving is good as well, but hard to find.
my3boysParticipantOh, yes, Cranberry Thanksgiving is one of our favorites. Our library has about 10 copies. We are reading A Time to Remember by Barbara Rainey (suggested by someone here last year, I think). It’s a cross between the Pilgrim’s story and thanking God for our provisions of today. It also comes with a praise cd.

missceegeeParticipantWe love all of those mentioned, but have another silly favorite – Farmer Goff and His Turkey Sam. We like that one bc We sub our last name Groff for Goff. 🙂
HollySParticipantOnes we read each year:
Thanksgiving: A Harvest Celebration
Cranberry Thanksgiving (we also love to make the cranberry bread recipe)
Samuel Eaton/Sarah Morton’s Day–although I think these are used in the SCM history guides if you want to save them for later.
A Plump and Perky Turkey–this is a silly, fun book
