I found a link about various programs used to teach piano on a prior topic here:

My question is: how often do you schedule lessons and practice and how long should these sessions last?

Starting out at grades 1 and 3, would I need to be there to help with the practices? Can I teach them together or do they really need individual lessons? Our goal is basic music knowledge.

What does piano lessons and practice look like on your schedule and in your home?

    Thanks.

We use Simply Music.  We schedule lessons 2 times a week, but I don’t let them move onto the next lesson unless they have mastered it.  They take their free time to practice.  Using Simply music, I have never needed to tell them to practice.  They do it with joy on their own.  Simply Music Lessons last about 10 minutes or so.  I start off the lessons with the scripture memory box done for the songs they have learned, so they are constantly remembering how to play them, then we move onto the DVD lesson.  Once the lesson is over, I usually give them 5 – 10 minutes to practice what they just learned.  That’s it! Pretty simple.  But the LOVE Simply Music over here.  I can’t recommend them enough!
