We are starting K soon, my son will turn 6 very late in the fall.  I had chosen Artistic Pursuits K-3 Book 1 for this year but now I am wondering if I should save that for next year.  I am still very excited to use it, but I just wonder if we should wait a year.  His younger brother (2 years younger) will be following along as he desires.  I think it bugs the perfectionist in me that there are only 3 Artistic Pursuits books for the K-3 range, instead of 4 :).  Not important, but does anyone know of a better option for K art, or should I just continue on with AP K-3/B1 as planned?  Thanks!

I did AP, book 1, this past year with my DD, 6 (turned 7 near the end of the year) and ODS who turned 5 1/2 way through the year. They bost had so much fun and we are continuing with book 2 this year.

I plan on going through the K-3rd books again as my youngest gets older. I think even bigger kids can have a lot of fun with the projects.

Thanks sarah2106!  I have heard such great things, and I recently purchased AP K-3/B1.  It looks so good and I am very excited to start using it!

Right now I am thinking that if I decide to wait a year on the K-3/B1 then I could use either Artistic Pursuits Pre-K Book (The Way They See It) or Preschool Art or I just found another option, The Little Hands Art Book.

Anyone have any suggestions?  This is for 2 boys turning 6 and 4 late fall.  Thanks!

Ahh, now I am realizing that Artistic Pursuits doesn’t have enough books to do 1 per year.  Should I just not plan to use it every year?  Is that what others do?  Should I have my K’er start with their preschool book?  Maybe I should, if his younger brother will be following along.  I don’t know!!

They do not have enough for one per year, but I see no problem with repeating, at least that is what I am planning on doing. The older ones are a bit more specific with, more “focused” but the K-3 books use a variety of mediums which I enjoy, as do the kids. My sister is starting book one with her girls 9 and under so she will be using them for 3rd grade and older since her oldest is in 3rd grade this year.

If you have any questions about sequence I would email. Last year I had questions and they were very helpful answering them all.
