Suggestions for Early Readers for my daughter

    My 6 year old daughter is really enjoying to read now!  We used Charlotte Mason delightful reading approach and she is on a roll – I am so encouraged!  What are some early readers that some of you can suggest for us?  She just turned 6, has a good grasp of phonics and sight words and really loves a good story that she can read on her own.  Have been searching our library and putting holds on whatever looks good.

    We have The Frog and Toad Treasury by Arnold Lobel and The Little Bear Treasury by Else Holmelund Minarik.  My daugher really has enjoyed them and she is 7.  ~April

    I would second both of those. Billy the Blaze books are also good. The first chapter books that my kids read were My Father’s Dragon and the two others by the same author.
