My 4.5 yo has been begging me to start Delightful Handwriting.  i do not think that she is quite ready for this.  I am definitely planning on using DH later but wondering what I could do before this?

    Is tracing letters very CMish?

You can always trace letters on a chalk board, or even better in a pan of rice or sand. My kids loved to make playdough letters at that age too.

My youngest is the same way. We do a lot of writing in a pan of salt. We also choose the simplest letters to start with and write them on a dry erase board so he get’s the shape of the letter without the pressure of keeping it “in the lines.”

    He just turned four and is proud that he can write the letters H, A, S, C, G, I, L, T, X

We skipped the others because they are more complicated and i don’t want him to get frustrated.
