If you are wanting to add the bible in with your SOTW studies, biblioplan is a good curriculum to look into.  It includes living books to use with various grade levels.  I can’t speak from experience, but it looks very good.  It is on a 4 year schedule and you can also choose to buy the whole package or chose to buy ala cart.

I also think you should go with what works for your family.  I read SOTW to my 8 year old at night.  She really enjoys the stories.  We are covering the 1600 – 1800’s right now and the only thing I don’t like is that there is not as much American History as I like to cover.  We work on our American History during the day using living books and just use SOTW for bedtime.  It’s working quite nicely.

That’s a nice way to do it, Rebekah! Hadn’t thought of that.

I also have All through the ages book. it was one of those muct have resource books recommended. I must say I love all the books for each era. I am glad you mentioned Storys of the World. It sounds interesting. I am always looking for good books, history curriculm. I guess I am a History book/curriculm junkie. I love it and can’t get enough. I love looking at several different options. I love living books and I love diffferent options to them. Thanks for recommending the SOTW. I will have to see if I can get the CD’s and work from there. 🙂 Just another tool for my tool belt! 🙂

@ bradstreet- Thanks for the idea of the Weiss storytelling CD’s I will have to look into those also. 🙂

Blessings everyone and thanks for the great info!
