What version of The Story of the Greeks do you use? I see a free kindle version, and a 99 Cent kindle version and then of course different paper copies. Input? Thanks!!
RainesParticipantThe one recommended in the SCM lesson plans for Joshua-Malachi and Ancient Greece is The Story of the Greeks by H .A. Guerber, edited by Christine Miller (Nothing New Press edition).
We thoroughly enjoy this version.
butterflylakeParticipantI went with the free kindle version from Amazon. I usually prefer paper copies but free is a good start!
Jordan SmithKeymasterThe edition from Nothing New Press contains additional material that’s not in the free edition, which we use in the SCM history lesson plans. That’s why we recommend that edition instead of the free, public domain version.
michelle mccamishParticipantThank you, I’ll look into getting the edition listed in the plans!
Julie CunninghamParticipantis there an ISBN number or a photo of the cover to post? I have searched specifically and still get varied results.
michelle mccamishParticipantI am glad I wasn’t the only one, that found it hard to find! The tip on the publisher helped me find it (i think). Here is the link on amazon.
Jordan SmithKeymasterThe Nothing New edition is also available on the publisher’s site in print and e-book versions.
AmandagwaParticipantCan someone confirm if this is the correct version and if it is the complete book? [Moderator note: Link to full e-book on Nothing New Press site removed.]
psreitmomParticipantThe books by Christine Miller would be complete. There shouldn’t be any difference in the e-book. I ordered the Ancient World book and it is very good.
AmandagwaParticipantWell, I’m not sure why the link was removed (sorry) ,but I was questioning it because I found it free on a google search.
Jordan SmithKeymasterAmandagwa, we removed the link because the linked version was a PDF of full version of The Story of the Greeks that Nothing New Press is selling in their store. We’re pretty sure they don’t intend there to be a public download link, and we’ve contacted them to let them know it was there.
CarlaParticipantJust checking into an old thread: Is there a place that is selling this edition of Story of the Greeks besides the publisher’s page? I’m not from the USA and I wanted to combine shipping with a couple of math books I wanted from Rainbow Resources to save a bit of money but they are only selling the Yesterday’s Classics version.
Can anyone tell me if I will be very disappointed if I just get that one?
