Spelling for 4th Grade

I know that Spelling Wisdom can be used in 4th grade; I’m just not sure my child is ready for it. He’s “pencil phobic” at the least. So here’s my question:

He says he wants to learn keyboarding; could the lessons be typed?

Or, what else could we use? We tried AAS and didn’t like it. I’ve looked at Dr. Fry’s, Spelling Power, and Sequential Spelling, but I don’t really like the looks of them. I have lists saved at Spelling City, but we’ve never been consistent with that program.

    TIA,

    Karen

I see no reason they couldn’t be typed – as long as you can somehow control the automatic spell correct. At our house, the purpose of dictation is spelling first, with capitolization and puntcuation; not handwriting (although I do expect it to be their best). =)
