Sorting divisions … is it possible

Whilst the kids and mum and having some well earned R & R … I am in the process of reviewing the current resources and scheduling some new ones.

Now … I was manually keying in a large number of chapters we would like to cover. I selected the division as chapter. As I reviewed the list I noticed … I had missed a chapter reading. So I thought I’d be clever and do the following: Eg. only … rename Chapter 20 to 21 and increment the subsequent no’s. by one. Then once at the end; add another division with the chapter no. 20 and the associated description.

Upon saving … I assumed the no. divisions would cause a background sort and re-sequence the order correctly. Alas that isn’t the case. The 2nd last chapter no. is greater than the last.

Is there a way you can re-align the chapters other than to manually shift everything down by one and slotting in the missed entry?

    Cheers Marcel

Marcel, you should be able to click and drag each of the division “boxes” into whatever order you want when you are editing an added resource.

Okay Sonya … hmm where am I going wrong? I’m in the mode “Edit Resource”. I scroll down to the “Division” section and see my long list of items. I’ve set my division type as “Chapter”. I went to the last entry and beside the “Number: <last no.> Title: xyz” I click on the “Number” label. Progress … the whole row is dragged to the designated location. The progress stops there; after getting to the position when I release my selection … the row simply reverts back to the original position way down in the list. I’ve tried releasing it when the row was between the two chapters, released when it was on the row I wanted it in … but to no avail. I think I’m in the right area … maybe theres something I’m missing or have set up differently.

Sonya … played some more. Click and Drag doesn’t work with Firefox v2.0.xx; I logged in using IE 7.0.xx and that worked. However whilst dragging the row … it looses the positional format and sits on the right of the screen on release. I saved the changes and then it displayed fine.

I do most of my work in Firefox … and the organisor works well with it. When you define resources with it though; the display format of the fields are kinda all over the place.

Anyway … I’m off. Cheers Marcel

Oh! Thanks so much for letting us know. I’ll forward this info to the programmer.

I have Firefox and I can’t get it to work either. But I’ve always had Firefox and I used to be able to drag things and change the order.

Our programmer thinks he has this issue fixed now. Give Firefox a try when you have a chance and let us know if it looks okay to you. Thanks!
