I was looking back at old posts and came across this four year old post regarding Math on the Level…..   http://simplycharlottemason.com/scmforum/topic/math-on-the-level

At the time, Sonya was wondering if anyone had an explanation of how it fit CM methods.  Sonya then gave a great list of CM math friendly attributes.

Sonya, have you looked at MOTL since and if so, do you think it fits the CM bill?  What are your thoughts on the program?

    Thanks,

    Melissa

I have not looked at it closely, Melissa. With all the math curricula being produced, it’s difficult to give each a thorough investigation; and I would hate to give an opinion based on a less-than-thorough impression. So rather than critique each curriculum, we recently put our efforts into making available an in-depth look at how Charlotte taught math. That way anyone can read about what she did and compare the ins-and-outs of whichever math curriculum they are researching.

You can find a summary of Charlotte’s approach in our Subject-by-Subject blog series, the post on math. And the in-depth look at her math methods is contained in the book, Mathematics: An Instrument for Living Education. There is quite a hefty sample posted on that page that you can download for a preview. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the response Sonya….I look forward to checking out the new mathematics book at the MACHE convention in MN in April.

    Blessings,
    Melissa
