First, let me start by saying that I love the organizer and it is very helpful. I have just now ran into a problem..and need some help.

Ok I will try to explain my dilemma clearly.

I entered the Christian Liberty Nature Reader Book 2 into the organizer from the bookfinder at the beginning of our year. We are down to the last two units (Chapters). I wanted to skip the next to the last unit (shellfish) until we went on vacation in a week..but wanted to start reading the last chapter (worms) this week. So I decided to just click finished on all the chapters of the unit for vacation and just go to the last unit..but come to find out the last unit isn’t entered into the organizer so it shows that I am completely finished with the book and I can’t find away to pull it back up. So I have two questions…how can I find a resource that is already “finished” but that I need to make changes to? And then what could I have done to skip one unit and in its place do the next unit followed up with the unit that I skipped? Does any of this make sense?

Thanks for any help and advice.

    Hi, Shelly –

Unfortunately there isn’t a way right now to pull up a resource once you’ve marked it as completely finished and it’s disappeared off the Daily Plan. We’re working on a way to edit checked off resources, but it’s not a current feature. I’ve been trying to figure out how the mix up might have happened; the only possibility that comes to mind is that maybe you accidentally clicked Finished for those chapters you wanted to skip rather than “skip.” But it sounds like you were certain you clicked “skip” on them.

Now, let me ask you this: when you clicked “skip” were you thinking that those chapters would then show up at the end of all the others? “Skip” means that those chapters will not be used, so the Organizer takes them out of the line-up. Maybe that’s where the confusion lies? (It’s so hard to re-create the exact scenario after the fact; it would be so much easier if I could have just looked over your shoulder. 🙂 )

    Two questions:

    1. Have you run a report to see what exactly has been recorded for that book?

    2. If I’m understanding correctly, you still have some chapters that need to be finished. Can you re-schedule the book and select just those chapter numbers to use?

Thanks Sonya for replying. Actually I didn’t click skip because I knew that they wouldn’t show up later so I just clicked finished thinking that atleast it would show that we finished that chapter even if it wasn’t the actual dates that we read the chapter. The problem then lies in the fact that in the bookfinder not all the chapters are entered in. I was expecting to click finished for Chapter 5 and then begin the next day clicking finish for each story in Chapter 6..but in the bookfinder there is no chapter 6 so it made the whole book disappear as if I had finished the whole book.

It isn’t a big deal now because I will use your advice and just add it as a resource and add the last chapter in. It maybe something that needs to be check on and added to the bookfinder…if you pull up the book it doesn’t show the last chapter on worms..I don’t know if anyone else had a problem or if it is just me…I am not the best computer user.

By the way I really enjoyed the All-day seminar in Nashville. My sister came with me and loved it too. She already went to the library and got a big book of art by Van Gogh and is so excited about adding picture study into her school day. Thank you for the encouragement and reminders…I always need help keeping on track.

    Thanks,

    Shelly

It’s not just you, Shelly. I went and checked, and the version of Christian Liberty Nature Reader, Book 2, that I have (and that I used to enter the chapter titles) ends after chapter 41. It doesn’t have the section on worms. So sorry for the confusion! I’ve added the remaining divisions into the Bookfinder entry. Take a look and let me know if everything looks okay now for that resource. Thanks!

I’m so glad you and your sister enjoyed the seminar in Nashville. We had a great time there! Tell your sister, “You go, girl” for me. 😉
