    Hi,

I need to find a different prgram for grammar for my 14 year old.  She is currently dealing with depression and anxiety, and has had bouts of this over the years since she was 8.  She is very sensitive with school stuff like:  paper has to be white, not off white, and too many problems on a page causing anxiety.  She struggled and cried her way through Analytical Grammar last year and did finish the 1st Season.  But she is REALLY struggling this year is the second season.  We have slowed it down, doing only 1/2 a page each time we work on it.  But it is just not working.

So….I would love some suggestions of other grammar that would be consider “high school” level and one that is throrough, but doesn’t have huge assignments every day.  We are transitioning to CM schooling so it would be great if it was along the lines of a CM instruction.

Thanks for reading through this long post.  And thank you for all the wonderful support I have received here!!!

I had a similar issue my 15 y/o daughter early this year.  At the advice of a friend, we started using Our Mother Tongue: A Guide to English Grammar by Nancy Wilson.  My daughter doesn’t love it, but doesn’t hate it either.  I keep the assignments very short — just the reading and one exercise at a time.  She does grammar twice weekly.  It’ll take her more than a year to finish the book since we’re working through it so slowly, but that’s okay.  She’s doing well and when she’s done, she’s done.  🙂  Tara

In this situation, maybe Easy Grammar Plus would be a fit. One page per day, for the duration.
