Do you skip those (and anything else)? I’m thinking of skipping those as well as most of the written stuff and just do the questions orally. Opinions and advice?

I don’t use this one, but Primary Language Lessons; but they are very similar. I do most of the picture studies, but in the form of oral picture narration; takes just a few minutes and move on to the next lesson.

Yes, I skip the memorization in PLL.

I do most of PLL orally; only here towards the end have I had him write a little more as he’s going into “4th” and into ILL.

We use EFTTC and I just use my discretion with each lesson.  Sometimes for the written work I get my DD7 (Grade 2) to dictate to me her story as I write it and then for the next few days she has a project to copy over into her own best handwriting.  Sometimes I skip the memorization and use it for copywork for a few day instead.  I have had her work on a couple of pieces to memorize, however, just because she liked them and I think that memorizing can be good “exercise” for the mindWink.  I try to just take our time with it.   For the most part, I don’t do the dictation exercises at all.  Next week, we are working on the letter writing.  She is somehwat excited about that, so I’m planning on actually having her write a letter with help.  HTH!
