I received this new homeschool, small group educational program from The Shakespeare Tavern:

Kati Grace “KG” Brown from the Education Department of the Shakespeare Tavern here with an exciting announcement for our 2013-2014 Season: new programming JUST FOR YOU!

Beginning this Fall, the Shakespeare Tavern is unveiling a new educational experience for groups of fifteem students or fewer: Shakesploration Days!

So what in the world is a “Shakesploration Day”? Well on select Thursdays each month prior to the opening of a new production in our matinee series, school groups of fifteen students or fewer will be invited to the Shakespeare Tavern from 10:00 A.M.- Noon to participate in a Playshop in Performance on the new matinee title (culminating, when space allows, on our professional stage!), enjoy a comprehensive backstage tour of our theatre and participate in a Question & Answer session with our professional actors and teaching artists.

Teachers time and again that have had us in their classroom for a Playshop in Performance- a one-hour long, dynamic, on-your-feet workshop wherein the students work together to create their own mini-performance of the play!- just rave about how much better their students were able to understand and enjoy their matinee fieldtrip after having worked with our artists. We would love to offer the same experience for your group!

Here is the schedule for the 2013-2014 Shakesploration Days. We are already taking reservations for the entire season J

    August 15th Twelfth Night

    September 26th Othello

    October 31st King Lear

January 9th The Taming of the Shrew

    January 23rd Romeo & Juliet

February 6th Much Ado About Nothing

    March 27th- Macbeth

    May 1st Comedy of Errors

The cost of this interactive experience is just $7/ student and reservations must be made no later than two weeks prior to the event.

All events subject to be cancelled with two weeks notice due to low enrollment, and no Shakesploration Day will exceed fifty students.

Thank you so much for your time. We look forward to seeing you at the theatre!
