I was wondering if anybody has had much experience with Second Harvest Curriculum?

I was thinking on selling books to them but have a lot!  Have you sold or bought from them and is it a company you would recommend?

    Thanks!  Jennifer

I haven’t heard of them before, but I checked out their website and if you have a lot to sell, but don’t have an easy way to sell it locally, this could be great.

One of the pluses would be that you just ship it all at once, not multiple trips to the post office for each person that wants a single book.  Another benefit is that you don’t have to wait for the books to sell, which means you get money right away whether they sell it or not.

On the downside, you can sell it for a lot more money if you sell it yourself (of course you also have to list it and ship it and make sure that you get the money from people).  Another downside would be that they may not take all the books you have, if it’s more obscure they might not want it.

I personally sell all my used curriculum locally because I get top dollar for it and the people come to my house to pick it up – a quick interruption is totally worth me not having to find packing material and get to the post office, BUT I live in a fairly large town and we have a email list where we can send out emails with used curriculum listed for free.  (I also purchase a lot of used curriculum this way).  I also don’t have a lot to sell.  Maybe half a dozen things each year.

    I hope that’s helpful!

Thank you, Rebekah!  That was a huge help!  I just shipped out my books to them.  I asked them ahead of time for an estimate on what they would pay me.  It was very reasonable!  Thanks again!
