Just wondering if anyone is using CLE for other subjects (math, LA, reading etc.) along with the SCM History modules?  If so I would like to know how this works out for you.  I realize that using a workbook approach is NOT considered CM so I hope no one is offended by the question!  😎

    Blessings,

    Hey Caryn,

I have no idea what CLE is but I did want to wish you well with baby #6. I’ll be praying for a great labor and delivery. Maybe with a baby on the way and 5 little ones just reading the Bible and other good books would be plenty to keep you busy without any curriculum. Smile

    Blessings,

    Hi,

I haven’t used CLE  recently, but my oldest used some of the reading program in 1st grade.  I know that it is not truly CM, BUT it does make mom’s life easier and can be done in short increments which more than makes up for any lack of purity. I say that tongue-in-cheek because I’m not sure any of us do things purely as Charlotte would have.  From what I can tell, CLE is very thorough and easy to implement. I would use it and just intersperse the lessons with the more “artsy” things like pictures study and music to keep the brain balanced and reduce fatigue.

I use Rod and Staff, mostly orally, but it is definitely not CM in its original form. I make it work by making lessons short and doing as much orally as possible.

CM is more of a way of tackling lessons and it is perfectly ok to use whatever resources we love. 🙂
