I’ve been reading through the posts but I still can’t get a handle on how much a 10th grader should be doing in History. To me, it looks like there isn’t enough. I see Bible everyday, but Greece history looks sparse, other than reading the Iliad, etc. I’m beginning to panic, as we start school on Monday and I fear that ds will be behind and/or lacking in the area of history. I’m not “with it” enough to plan out culture, time periods, battles, etc. on my own to add it in. HELP!

    P.S. We’re also expecting a new baby this month…..

Lisa, Have you considered a basic Greek history such as Story of the  Greeks by H.A. Guerber?

I actually just ordered it. I’d looked at it during the summer and really liked Christine’s revised version and I thought I had ordered it already but hadn’t. I think we’ll do that, as well as incorporate written narrations (English/Grammar/Comp) in addition to Sonya’s guides. I’m from the PS system and I just get really nervous when they (the children) don’t have “a lot” to do. I’m afraid they won’t have enough accomplished for state purposes, credits, etc. Pregnancy hormones probably don’t help either. Sealed

    Thanks, Bookworm, for responding.

I am curious.  How is your year going?  Are you satisfied with your purchase of SotG? Are there any cons to using this with the SCM guide?

My girls will be doing this guide next year, and I am gearing up for that, so I’d welcome any pointers or input you’d care to give. 🙂
