I have a 1st and 2nd grader this year.  I am planning to do the 106 days of creation studies combined.  Is that the entire year or is the Exploring Creation with Botany meant to be added at the end of the 106 days to total 180 days?

Yes, 106 days is a full year.  Keep in mind that you don’t have to do every subject for a 180 day school year.  You just need 180 days of school.  School is many subjects and if you tried to do all of them every day you would burn out pretty fast!  “Normal” schools do not do every subject every day either.

Unless you live somewhere that specifically says you need 180 days of science.  ???  If that is the case, you could probably just check out extra books on the subject that you are studying to lengthen the lessons and stretch them out a bit to cover 180 days.

Exploring Creation is another whole-year course.  You wouldn’t want to try to do both in one year.Wink

No, Science is not a required course for these ages.  Thanks I thought it might be listed as another option for 1-3rd grade.

How often do you typically do Science?  2 or 3 days a week?

I just started 106 days with my 2nd grader.  We are doing 3 days per week, but the lessons are pretty quick – easily fitting into a 15 min window, so far, but we are only in our 2nd week.  🙂

I think about 3 days a week is great for elementary grades.  Plus, nature study is important for too.  That is science also. Laughing
