    Hello Everyone.

    I have (yet another) science curriculum question.

    For whatever reason when it comes to the subject of science, I am always second guessing myself.

    I can’t seem to settle on a particular curriculum for the subject.  Honestly? I think it just intimidates me.

    So…

    I came across another science curriculum and I was wondering if anyone has heard of it or if anyone has ever used it?  From what I can see, it is in no way CM — but it looked interesting.  The company is called Science Shepherd and the curriculum that I was looking into was their Introductory Science series.

    I feel the same way about science. It seems I can’t ever completely settle. We are on week 3 of Science Shepherd Introductory Science. So far so good! You’re right that it is not CM, BUT it is solid in biblical truth. I needed something that my DD’s could do together more independently during the season of life I’m in with some challenging health issues. They are really enjoying it.

    Thanks for responding.

    Which workbook level are you using? A or B?

    I read a review that stated that the workbooks and activities were geared more for younger students — that they weren’t challenging enough.

    I would be using this for a 1st and 5th grader

    My girls grades 3 and 6 are doing level B. My 3rd grader is challenged by it, but does very well and my 6th grader finds it easy. It’s really just reinforcing what she already knows from a Biblical perspective which for us is the most important thing. We needed something where my oldest daughter can help guide my youngest. It’s working very well for that purpose. The reviews we’ve seen for high school have been really good. We expect them to finish early and then our plan is to use Unearthing The Bible.     Hi Ashley, I know that Science Shepherd is one that SCM recommends as an option in 9th grade. Other than that I don’t know much myself. 🙂
