Science seems to be my hard part. I like it, but somehow im not sure how i want to teach it. We are going to finish out this year with what we have (masterbooks, and answers in genesis).

I’ve been looking at Alveary though. Anyone used it? Could i have some reviews?

Holly, what are your thoughts about it?

I think the Alveary is using different science now—when we did it they used Sabbath Mood science, which wasn’t a good fit for my kids.  The lessons were not as “open and go” as I wanted and we had many unsuccessful experiments.  I think the Alveary is now using Novare for the upper grades but I’m not sure about the younger grades.

I have three kids (8th, 10th, and 12th) using Apologia, a fifth grader using a Rod and Staff science text, and my youngest is using a couple of living books (Tommy Smith’s Animals and an Arabella Buckley’s Wild Life in Woods and Fields).   I have really struggled with science over the years, but we keep returning to Apologia.
