Scheduling a resource in SCMO over 3 terms

I am not sure how to handle this, but I have to schedule 9 chapters of Oxford First Ancient History in the Organizer, but two chapters are scheduled in the first term, two in the second term, and five in the third term. These groups of chapters are weeks apart, and I have other resources to schedule in between.

I’m not sure how to do this without having the next Oxford chapter showing on the schedule for weeks until I need to see the next assignment. Can anyone explain to me how I should schedule it? For some reason, it is not coming to mind.

You could schedule the book three times, each with just the chapters you need. Each one could be scheduled to start at the date you expect to begin each term.

This is how I do it……

When you set up the resource and you list all the lessons, I divide them by weeks, not lessons So the divider is Week and then below it looks like this…

    1  pg 86-89

    1 pg 90-92

    2 pg 2-4

    4 pg 7-20

This way will cause it to show up in the schedule, but you see right away that it is OR isn’t needed for the week you are on and so you can close it out OR leave it open depending……

now we school according to myhusband’s shift work schedule, so sometimes we school on mondays and sometimes we school on saturdays etc. so I do not necessarily usse a resource on a particular day. I do a four day rotating subject schedule and so to show what day the particular resource should be used, I do this under scheduling. I do a custom option and list how many assignments per week should be completed and then list the day # …. For instance if I want  book read twice a week and I want to skip a day in between readings then I type in — 2 assignments per week [day 1] [day3]

Then that morning I pull up the schedule and if we are in day 2 of the schedule, I close this resource OR if I am on day 1, then I leave it open and get it done.

I hope this helps you even though it will be on the schedule all the time, it does make it easier to eliminate it on certain weeks.

I think I like the idea of scheduling the book three times with different start dates & selected chapters. I’m so visual that it would nag at me if I daily kept seeing the next assignment that we didn’t need for several weeks, and after awhile, I would probably block it out mentally altogether. That wouldn’t be good! I can picture it being May, I’m wrapping things up, and–oh, no! We forgot to do “x” number of chapters from that book!
