Here is the list of resources we will be recommending for the new revision of the Matthew through Acts & Ancient Rome module. There is a link at the bottom of that page that will show you our suggestions for where to find the books. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

It will be a while before we get to this module; however, I ordered The Story of the Romans today when I ordered The Story of the Greeks. Thank you for all your hard work! I can’t wait to meet some SCM faces at the MÂCHÉ conference in a few weeks!

I think that this will be good, Sonya. You actually haven’t had to change many of the additional reading choices which is helpul, and the new selections look great.

I appreciate you and the SCM team (and your families). 😉  Thank you for working so hard to help us all in so many ways and on so many levels. I am looking forward to the geography and notebooking ideas. How exciting to have so many new options for things I am already trying to incorporate!

Yes, I tried not to completely throw out a book unless there was a compelling reason to do so. Glad you like the selections!

Will this new book be available in Cincinnati this weekend?  This is the one I plan to buy for next year.

If you mean The Story of the Romans, we don’t carry it. It’s a resource from Nothing New Press that we’re recommending. I think Rainbow Resource carries it, but I don’t know if they will have a copy in Cincinnati. You might contact them and see.

I’m sorry, I actually meant the revised edition of Matthew through Acts that you all print.

Mandi, the revised edition of Matthew through Acts & Ancient Rome is still being written. We hope to have it available before the fall.

Okay, thanks.  I’ll hold out and hope it’s ready for us by the fall.  🙂

My girls are referring to A Traveler in Rome as “the boring one”, can you tell me which resource I should use in it’s place – we’re doing this module right now. (somewhere around lesson 22)

    Thanks!

I have noted that Rome Antics by David Macaulay is a good replacement. Haven’t used Module 3 yet so I can’t say how the book is.

We are expecting our baby in November and therefore would like to start school in late June. I don’t think the handbook will be revised by then. Does anyone have any recommendations on how I could start w/o using the handbook? Thank you!!!
