Here is the list of resources we will be recommending for the new revision of the Matthew through Acts & Ancient Rome module. There is a link at the bottom of that page that will show you our suggestions for where to find the books. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
AmberParticipantIt will be a while before we get to this module; however, I ordered The Story of the Romans today when I ordered The Story of the Greeks. Thank you for all your hard work! I can’t wait to meet some SCM faces at the MÂCHÉ conference in a few weeks!
sherazParticipantI think that this will be good, Sonya. You actually haven’t had to change many of the additional reading choices which is helpul, and the new selections look great.
I appreciate you and the SCM team (and your families). 😉 Thank you for working so hard to help us all in so many ways and on so many levels. I am looking forward to the geography and notebooking ideas. How exciting to have so many new options for things I am already trying to incorporate!
Sonya ShaferModeratorYes, I tried not to completely throw out a book unless there was a compelling reason to do so. Glad you like the selections!
MandiParticipantWill this new book be available in Cincinnati this weekend? This is the one I plan to buy for next year.
Sonya ShaferModeratorIf you mean The Story of the Romans, we don’t carry it. It’s a resource from Nothing New Press that we’re recommending. I think Rainbow Resource carries it, but I don’t know if they will have a copy in Cincinnati. You might contact them and see.
MandiParticipantI’m sorry, I actually meant the revised edition of Matthew through Acts that you all print.
Jordan SmithKeymasterMandi, the revised edition of Matthew through Acts & Ancient Rome is still being written. We hope to have it available before the fall.
MandiParticipantOkay, thanks. I’ll hold out and hope it’s ready for us by the fall. 🙂
PollyParticipantI am looking forward to these changes! Thank you!
RebekahyParticipantMy girls are referring to A Traveler in Rome as “the boring one”, can you tell me which resource I should use in it’s place – we’re doing this module right now. (somewhere around lesson 22)
Thanks!
Rebekah
MelissaBParticipantI have noted that Rome Antics by David Macaulay is a good replacement. Haven’t used Module 3 yet so I can’t say how the book is.
csnoverParticipantWe are expecting our baby in November and therefore would like to start school in late June. I don’t think the handbook will be revised by then. Does anyone have any recommendations on how I could start w/o using the handbook? Thank you!!!
