Resurrecting a completed resource … is it possible?

I thought I had re-opened a scheduled resource for one of my children; so that the additional changes (Like adding more divisions) I had made to the resource could also be reflected.

In completing the recent work … the resource no longer is scheduled. In checking the resource I know there was more work to go.

I ran a report and confirmed the resource title.

Is it possible to resurrect a past completed resource? If it is possible then the changes I need to make can be completed. Otherwise I’ll just re-schedule the resource and complete the parts he has already done.

You’ll need to re-schedule the resource and specify the parts that you want to use. Resurrecting/editing completed resources and records is on “the list” but not available yet. Sorry.

No worries … it was an ask. Cheers

Hey Sonya … it happened to me again where I had initially defined some of the divisions to get the resource scheduled. I had’nt been totally switched on and completed the last division. Dohhh!!!

Anyway … I happened to come across this post which seemed to be the exact question I was going to ask :-). (What a cracker … who was this individual that posted this??? Dohhh … me!!)

I see the solution was to re-schedule and start the divisions from where you last left off or the next lesson and onwards. A work-around but has something changed with regard to this issue?

I’m sure there are folks out there who have accidently completed a resource because it wasn’t completely defined or was incorrectly categorised and just wish they could get it back to modify.

The undo feature in the daily planner is nice as you can quickly undo the completion of lesson/s. Just wondered if there was away you can ressurect the completed resource.

One solution I thought was that you still could have the resource listed for a day or week with the associated text of ‘Completed’ and perhaps a hyperlink option similar to the ‘Undo’ feature such as ‘Incomplete’. When this option is selected it re-instates the resource back to the last division in the state of being worked on.

My experience is that the fault is realized as soon as you complete the lesson. By then … its too late to stop the process. When it has disappeared off the screen then you know it wasn’t a mistake.

    What’s your thought?

    Cheers Marcel

We’re actually getting ready to launch some upgrades to the Daily Plan, Marcel. A couple of the new features should help with this issue.

    1. A finished resource will stay on the page until it is refreshed. It will also have an Edit Assignment button that will allow you to do more to it than just “undo.”
    2. You will have two options when checking off assignments: a minimal (only Today) quick view or an expanded (all Week) view. If you use the expanded (all Week) view, it will give you a visual reminder when you’re about to finish a resource.

I think Doug will be posting more information on these upgrades in the near future.
